And don't act like I'm not right when I say it IS great to be American.
But the fact that I'm scrolling down my Tumblr dash TWO DAYS after Independence Day is just what shocks me the most.
See, don't get me wrong, I love it. I come from a family of hardcore Conservative Republicans. I'm reminded on a DAILY BASIS how lucky we Americans are. But it's just different to see all the "HECKYEAH AMERICA POSTS!" when Independence Day and barbeques and fireworks are long gone, at least until the next summer birthday party you throw or attend.
Because normally it's "ugh america sux i wanna go 2 britin! woooo omg i can drink t and ride da dubble deckar bussis! yay 4 da kween!" every other day of the year. And then on Independence Day there's the screaming and the protesting that America rocks. We're likeable to Canada, Australia, and most European owned countries. So why does everyone hate it here?
It's just weird. Americans are weird.
Okay I'm going to go crawl back into my cave now
